Rebranding, A Quick Story

Naming your business can be painful and rewarding at the same time. You start out in the planning phases identifying objectives, position, strategy, brand values, personality and everything that goes into that.  Then you get to concepting a name which can become a standstill if your not careful. Pleasing everyone and coming to a common and strategically sound solution can be a beast. If your are tackling the process, Katie provided the quick story of how we rebranded as Departika last year for a bit of inspiration. Katie Canada, Creative Director says,

The process of renaming ourselves was a difficult, but fun one. We wanted something original, that no one else had. A name that we could have the exact .com address for (without adding “creative, or “design” to the end). We wanted it to be creative, memorable and mean something. What would that meaning be?
